Ron DeSantis at a Campaign Event

Numerous reports have shed light on the DeSantis $200 million dark money machine created partially by a transfer of funds from his Governor campaign account- about $80 million worth.  Accusations surfaced that DeSantis manipulated the campaign finance system to treat Super Pac money as his own campaign cash causing an FEC complaint to be filed against him, bolstered by several media reports citing campaign finance experts who claim he’s violating FEC law by using the Super Pac funds in ways that seem coordinated.  However, these incidents merely scratch the surface of a more profound problem within the DeSantis campaign: the opaque nature of Super PAC finances leaves politicians, including DeSantis, potentially in the dark about the actual deployment of these monies. For DeSantis, this obscurity and the associated allegations may have significantly derailed his prospects for securing the GOP presidential nomination

The Never Back Down PAC has emerged as a pivotal force in the current Presidential election, surpassing previous Super PAC involvement. It has facilitated private jet travel for Governor Ron DeSantis, spearheaded grassroots initiatives such as door-to-door campaigns, and conducted polling — essentially taking on roles traditionally reserved for a campaign team. DeSantis appears to view this strategy as a groundbreaking method to reallocate campaign funds for a wide array of political activities.  He even influenced the creation of laws in Florida to legalize these maneuvers.  However, the approach overlooks a critical flaw that plagues governance today: a lack of transparency in government affairs contrasted with excessive invasion of citizen privacy.  This imbalance permits clandestine groups, potentially influenced by foreign entities, to infiltrate our elections via dark money funneled through Super PACs.  This means shadowy entities backed by foreign powers push a certain objective that appears to be clear: to sow discord within American politics. In this light, the tactics deployed by the DeSantis Super PAC seem to target not just political adversaries like Donald Trump but the fabric of American society itself.  Upon closer inspection of the DeSantis campaign, it appears to be a caricature of how American politicians are viewed in nations like China.  It’s been a bit of a national embarrassment the DeSantis campaign making it no surprise there’s serious dark money behind DeSantis which supports the agenda of China, and others.
